Green Beauty Product Review: Tata Harper Clarifying Mask

Back Story

In the world of green beauty, there’s Tata Harper; she’s high up there. She is one of my favorite skincare curators especially being that the company grows most their own ingredients on their farm in Vermont. I trust her and her brand, hence, I use a lot of her products in my own skincare routine. I think they’ve proven themselves to be trustworthy in the green beauty industry.

With that being said, she recently released the Clarifying Mask. Initially, I was hesitant to try it because I already have quite a number of masks for different skin concerns. More so, one of my current favorite masks is the Resurfacing Mask from Tata Harper so I wasn’t sure if they’d be pretty similar in their formula.  Being that I am recovering from intense consumerism and embracing minimalism, I try to make sure I absolutely need a product before buying.

Fortunately for me, I was in the process of planning these Glowing Skincare series inspired by my sister (Read them HERE, HERE and HERE). My sister happened to be in need of a face mask so I figured this would be a perfect opportunity to try it with her. We ordered the product last month and have used it enough to have a substantial opinion.

Now here’s the cookie…..

“The Clarifying mask is the ultimate weapon against any skin imperfection to get your skin back to looking healthy, balanced and clear.”-

This CLARIFYING MASK is also a complexion treatment and is recommended for all skin types. The ingredients are 100% Natural and 52% organic. It is advised to wear sunscreen and limit exposure as this product contains AHA which may increase the skin’s sensitivity to the sun.

It contains Chlorella, Alpha Hydroxy Acids,  Salicylic Acid, Lactic Acid and Quartz Sand Micro Crystals along with other great all natural ingredients. Together these key ingredients work to draw out impurities from the skin, balances sebum and controls excess oil on the surface of the skin. The key ingredients also help soothe redness; reduce blemish, refine the appearance of pores, nourish skin and exfoliate. The full ingredients list is on

Instructions:  Apply a thick layer over the face and neck. Leave for 15 to 20 minutes. Massage the skin with warm water to gently exfoliate before thoroughly rinsing.

My experience and Verdict

The first time I used this product, I was impressed. The consistency is not too thick or too thin. It has a pudding-like consistency. Quite fine. The smell wasn’t strong at all. It smelt like a green smoothie to me with a very mild citrusy scent.

My first time using it, I applied a thin layer (the instruction says thick layer-oops) however, it was still effective. Upon washing it off, I could feel the gritty exfoliator which is the Quartz Sand Micro Crystals but it wasn’t harsh at all. I’d still advice to rinse off gently. I was shocked by the result.

My pores looked visibly shrunken and felt very soft and smooth. Frankly speaking, I was amazed. Touching my face felt like I was touching a baby’s butt. It was super smooth. There was NO dryness or irritation. For the rest of the day, my face felt and looked fresh, nourished, hydrated and glowing.

My sister who has sensitive skin used it as well and got the same result. She loved it! She’s new to the green beauty world and for her first mask. I think she’ll be hooked on this one for a long time. This Mask is easily one of my new favorites.

Worth it?

I say YES! If you’re looking for a mask to ease of blemishes, control oil, and exfoliate for a clear and balanced skin, this is definitely one to consider. The mask costs $68 but it is worth every penny. Not only are you getting a mask that is effective but also one that is toxic free and free of harsh and unnecessary chemicals; One of the best in the green beauty industry.

The only con I have for this product would probably be the price. Honestly, I am still new to splurging on skincare but I’m learning to understand that sometimes, you have to pay more for better value. This is good value and I am pleased with the purchase.

I am very impressed with this mask and will continue to use it in my regimen.

  • Hmmm. Expensive, yes. But good, trustworthy skin care is definitely something that doesn’t come cheap. And I would much prefer to support this smaller company than any of the major brands. I am all for this. And thank you for doing such a comprehensive review boo. I’m not huge on masks. But as I broach on 28 years old… I’ve definitely started a wishlist thanks to your blog.

Also – ventureeeee! Sexyyyyyy! Good choice! (Wink).

    • Hahaha. 28 sounds like a good time to start taking masks seriously! I only started this year and I feel like I am catching up on the years of neglect! You know I’ll always have good recommendations for you 🙂

and ….. Venture really is LIT! wooohoooo!

  • It’s really expensive! But green mask that does what it says? I’m so tempted right now! I wonder if they sell to Malaysia HAHA 😀 Thanks for sharing gal! By the mask, the mask looks really watery in the tub!

    • Amazon might be able to ship to Malaysia. Check to see. And yes, it is on the higher end but it’s really great. I would repurchase (honestly). There are alternatives tho, I’ll do a mask roundup
