What If I told you that you could get all-natural skincare products customized for you? I mean skincare products specifically formulated for your skin type and to address specific skin concerns? Well, you can, and Activist Skincare can help with that. I have been using products from this brand for about 3 months now and I am pleased so far. I love what the brand is doing and I love the products so I thought I’d share with you. If you follow me on Instagram, then you have seen me talk about this brand and products. This post, however, will go into detail a bit on some of the products.
Please, note that the opinion and every word in this post are my words and my unbiased opinion even though the products were sent to me in PR. Affiliate links are used in this post. Read my full disclosure.
Activist skincare has some amazing all-natural skincare products, including:
The customization process if very simple. When you go on to order each product, You will get a prompt to “customize” your products. (This is only applicable to products that are customizable such as the custom hyaluronic acid). If you don’t want a customized product, you can just go with the signature products. The signature products are ready to ship products that work just as well for all skin types without any specific need.
The customization form asks you questions such as your age, skin’s moisture level, your pores and how congested they are. They also ask questions about your allergies and sensitivities as well as any inflammations and hyperpigmentation level. In the end, you pretty much let their aesthetician and formulators know what your skin concerns are in order to better include ingredients that tackle your skin concern. Your product will come with a card telling you what other ingredients are included in your formulations.
You’re also able to make specific requests other than the questions asked on the formulation form. So consider it your own aesthetician visit.
So I will share the products I got for my own formulation and let you know my thoughts and how they work for me.
Custom Hyaluronic Acid Serum
This is one of my favorite serums yet. I have only tried hyaluronic acid once and didn’t really like my experience so I was hesitant but excited about this one. However, this is currently one of my favorite product in my skincare shelf. You can read more about the benefits of hyaluronic acid in this post. This product absorbs into the skin and leaves it silky smooth and super hydrated. Sometimes I don’t even follow up with a moisturizer and my skin fairs very well throughout the day. It contains peptides to help rebuild aging skin and antioxidants for protection against UV and environmental damage. I’m actually running out from using this almost every day and will be sure to repurchase. Buy the Custom Hyaluronic Acid Serum here.
Custom Precious Oils Serum
This serum is pretty much a face oil. Even though I have very oily skin, I do enjoy face oils. There are amazing face oils that work for oily skin. You can check out my face oil and serum collection. This particular serum is a lipid blend that contains essential fatty acids that sooth the skin, provide moisture and keep it balanced. I have found myself using this serum as my moisturizer. It truly does what it says. My skin isn’t oilier than usual. It is not the lightest face oil I’ve tried so a little goes a long way or it’ll leave you greasy. Buy the custom Precious Oils Serum here.
Botanical Cleansing Oil
I’m not big into double cleansing yet. However, having this cleaning oil on my shelf nudges me in that direction. I tend to use this oil mainly as a makeup remover on days when I wear makeup or as a simple cleanser on days when I need to cleanse my skin but not use a regular face cleanser. It has an Oil to milky consistency, the scent is super mild and it really does hydrate the skin. This cleanser is also a rebalancing cleanser that doesn’t strip any of the skin’s oils. It contains Hempseed oil which unclogs pores and is packed with gamma-linolenic acid. It also has Sea buckthorn oil, which has antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties making it great for those with acneic skin. Lastly, it also has Tamanu Oil which has UVA and UVB rays protection. Buy the cleansing oil here.
This is my favorite way to remove makeup. Typically, I use olive oil or coconut oil to take off my makeup. I find that this does more than just take off makeup, it really leaves the skin moisturized and does a better job taking off makeup. I love all the ingredients in this balm like the shea butter, avocado oil, and even macadamia nut oil. If you’re more of a balm cleanser kinda person, you will love this one. Bu the Cleansing balm here.
I love the products and I appreciate what the brand stands for. I am impressed with what I’ve tried so far and look forward to trying more from this brand especially the Vitamin C super powder. The hyaluronic acid and the custom precious oils are my favorite products. Should you purchase, Yes! (If you need the items- Intentional living is what we’re after here, remember?)
